The objective of this project was to design an efficient, adaptable, and healthy school building for around 750 students, covering all grades from preschool to 9th grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spaces have been intended to be versatile, with some areas that can be combined with each other. The school was designed based on a multi-purpose building concept, allowing for evening and weekend use of the facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great care has been put into selecting the surface and building materials of the school, which has been certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Special attention has been paid to ensuring good indoor air quality and ample daylight in the classrooms, in accordance with the ecolabel criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with the users of the building, a thorough personalisation plan was developed, creating an atmosphere and colour scheme that reflect their preferences. The chosen theme is “By the waters,” drawing inspiration from the surrounding nature and nearby natural landmarks, such as the local Haihunkoski landscape. The themes and colour tones are nature-inspired, and the brick-clad exterior covers the interior spaces, which use plenty of wooden surfaces.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
