Renovation and extension.
The main campus of Tampere University of Applied Sciences is located at Kuntokatu 3 in Kauppi, Tampere. The property has been extended several times and forms a large complex on the Kauppi-880-4 plot. The oldest part of the building was completed in 1960 and was designed by the architectural firm Sirkka and Aarne Piirainen.
The project plan envisages a multi-use, flexible, modern and efficient learning and working environment for the Music, Health and Social Sciences and Proacademy schools, currently located in rented premises separate from the campus, on the TAMK Kauppi campus.
The facilities will be built with particular attention to the health and safety of the premises and structural solutions, as well as accessibility. The design of the learning environments will take into account new ways of learning and changing curricula, as well as the economic and efficient use of space. Staff and student work spaces will take the form of a multi-purpose office.
The design work was carried out from the beginning to the end of the process as a joint project with users. TAMK Kuntokatu campus is a campus environment protected by zoning.
