Tampere court building’s facilities were designed to be located in the former Tampella industrial area, specifically in the old bleaching department building of the linen factory. Currently, it houses the Pirkanmaa District Court, the Pirkanmaa Enforcement Authority, and the Pirkanmaa Prosecutor’s Office.

In 1995, the Tampere Environmental Committee awarded the Tampere court building the Good Construction Award, citing the exceptional quality of the renovation and the preservation of the traditional river landscape as merits.

The Finnish Association of People with Disabilities also recognised the building with an award for community planning. The justification emphasised that the needs of various users were meticulously taken into account in the design. The building is also designed to accommodate people with hearing and visual impairments, making it easy for them to run their errands within the premises.
