Ranta-Tampella Block 967 consists of six residential apartment buildings constructed in three different phases. Espanranta and Espanhovi were completed in the first phase in 2020, while Adele and Gustaf were completed in the second phase in 2022.

The block is composed of two long 8-9-story building masses, each containing three housing companies. In the centre of the block, between the residential buildings, there is an underground parking hall with a shared courtyard on top. Entrances to the ground floor are accessible from the streets and from the courtyard, leading directly to the second floor. Ground-level apartments come with enclosed terraces and private yards, while other units feature cosy balconies facing either the street or the courtyard. All apartments offer views of Lake Näsijärvi.

Architecturally, the buildings are designed as red brick masses rising from a two-story dark brick pedestal. A courtyard path connects the three buildings on both sides of the block, aligning them in the same line. The openings on the street-facing facade are strategically placed to create a more robust impression on the lower floors, gradually becoming lighter as you move upwards, with more balcony space and less brick.

On the courtyard side, the facade solution consists entirely of an aluminium frame partially covering glass-enclosed balconies, creating a bright and modern impression. The frame starts at varying heights above the second floor. This transition in the frame’s positioning allows for the use of wood material on the lower floors of the buildings, creating a sense of human scale and comfort.
